Roshni is the founder of M.A.P. After completing her law degree from National Law Institute University, Bhopal, Roshni initially worked with one of India's leading law firms, Amarchand Mangaldas, as a corporate lawyer for 3 years. Realising that her real interest lay in humanitarian and relief work, she left her job and decided to pursue a Masters degree from Columbia Law School, New York, where she focused mainly on international humanitarian law and civil liberties. She joined the UNHCR in 2010 and worked in different UN field offices, including, India, Egypt and UAE, before leaving to set up M.A.P. At M.A.P, she is responsible for the overall management, fundraising and M&E.
Senior Legal Consultant
Ishita graduated from National Law University, Jodhpur in 2016. She has previously worked in a top Indian law firm, Luthra & Luthra Law Offices, as a corporate lawyer. At M.A.P, Ishita provides specialised assistance to clients who have faced gender-based violence. She also conducts outreach activities with refugee women, assists in strategic litigation work and undertakes casework including in-take interviews, legal research, identifying and highlighting protection concerns, drafting legal documents, and accompanying clients to the UNHCR for their asylum interviews.
Deeksha studied English Literature at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, and Law at the University of Cambridge. She previously worked as a law clerk for a judge of the Supreme Court, and practiced criminal and civil litigation in New Delhi for three years. Deeksha’s association with M.A.P began as a volunteer during the exhibition, Passage to Asylum. We are now happy to welcome her as a full-time staff member at M.A.P, where she will be working on our project to make the Indian justice system more responsive for survivors of sexual and gender based violence within the refugee community.
Hamsa completed her law degree from Symbiosis Law School and her Masters from University of Rouen, France. She has nearly 2 years of work experience with the UNHCR field office in India. Hamsa has previously worked with Bail for Immigration Detainees and with Refugee and Migrant Justice, both in London. Hamsa has also worked as a consultant with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India and UNICEF, where she worked on child protection laws. At M.A.P, Hamsa manages all the programmes, supervises the legal team and undertakes fundraising. She has expertise in dealing with claims involving displaced women and children.
Senior Legal Consultant
Nayantara graduated from University Law College, Bangalore in 2013, and completed her LL.M. from SOAS, University of London in 2016. She has previously worked as a researcher on the rights of children with disabilities at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. At M.A.P, Nayantara provides legal assistance to clients who are survivors of torture and other forms of persecution. She undertakes casework and accompanies clients to the UNHCR for their asylum interviews. She also manages the organisation’s media presence.
Yuvraj graduated from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar in 2018. He has previously worked as a research associate with the prison reforms team of the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, securing justice for asylum seekers and foreign national prisoners in West Bengal. He has also interned with the UNHCR in India and Malaysia where he gained in registering asylum-seekers and conducting screening interviews. At M.A.P, Yuvraj will undertake casework, legal research, and strategic litigation.

Pallavi completed her law degree from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, and her Masters from Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, with a specialisation in Human Rights. Pallavi has also completed a course on Armed Conflict, Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from HREA. She has nearly 4 years of work experience at UNHCR field offices in India and Thailand. Prior to this, she worked with International Bridges to Justice, where her focus was on juvenile justice and legal assistance for indigent prisoners. At M.A.P, Pallavi manages the legal empowerment programme and supervises legal consultants and translators.
Senior Legal Consultant (Financial Inclusion)
Aman completed his undergraduate studies from the National Law University, Jodhpur in 2012, and BCL from the University of Oxford in 2013. He has previously worked with the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands; Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan a tax law firm in New Delhi; and the Jammu & Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society, Srinagar. At M.A.P, Aman primarily works on its financial inclusion project and assists with legal representation of asylum-seekers before UNHCR, as well as other research and advocacy initiatives.
Sunethra graduated from the NorthCap University, Gurugram in 2017, and completed her Advanced LL.M. in Public International Law with a specialisation in Peace, Justice and Development from Leiden University in 2018. She has previously worked as a Hilton Prize Fellow in the Research and Policy Department of ECPAT International, Bangkok, where she assisted in preparing country-specific reports on the issue of sexual exploitation of children. At M.A.P, Sunethra will undertake casework and also work on its pioneering financial inclusion project.
Merlyn graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Applications from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak in 2016. During this time, she also worked as an Admissions Counsellor for prospective students. Merlyn has previously worked as front office staff in hotels like The Leela and The Lalit. At M.A.P, Merlyn is responsible for handling the reception, day-to-day administration and overall office management.
