Ankita Sarkar
Project Coordinator
Ankita is a lawyer who works at the intersection of gender equity and access to justice. With over a decade of experience in strategic litigation in the criminal justice system, and legal aid system strengthening, Previously, she was Legal Strategy Coordinator at the Fair Trial Programme, Project 39A, NLUD (now the Square Circle Clinic, NALSAR) and Litigation Associate at Project 39A. She has also undertaken criminal appellate litigation before the Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench, at the chambers of Adv. S. V. Sirpurkar.
Ankita works closely with grassroots legal actors, public institutions, and academic spaces to drive structural change.
At MAP, she leads initiatives focused on community-based legal empowerment for survivors of sexual and gender based violence, and justice innovation through research, capacity building, and digital tools designed for systemic inclusion.
