OFFICE OF THE HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS (OHCHR): OHCHR is the principal United Nations office mandated to promote and protect human rights. It leads the global human rights efforts to speak out objectively in the face of human rights violations worldwide. Since 2015, OHCHR has been supporting M.A.P’s legal aid programme for refugees who have faced torture in their home countries through the UN Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture (UNVFVT).
THE COMMONWEALTH FOUNDATION: The Commonwealth Foundation is a development organisation that strengthens the capacity of civil society to act together and learn from each other to engage with governing institutions. With support from the Foundation, M.A.P will be implementing a project in 2018-19 focusing on financial inclusion for refugees. The project will strive for constructive engagement with governing institutions and enhanced civil society participation.
AMPLIFY CHANGE: The Fund aims to empower young people, women and men to realise their sexual and reproductive rights. In 2017, the Fund supported M.A.P in conducting a study to analyse and collate laws that seek to protect survivors of GBV within the refugee community in India, and prepare information pamphlets for an awareness drive.
CLIFFORD CHANCE FOUNDATION: As one of the world's pre-eminent law firms, CC is committed to providing pro bono services which widen access to justice around the world. Since 2016, CC's Singapore office has been supporting M.A.P’s work by providing pro bono hours. Lawyers from the Singapore office assist M.A.P’s caseworkers by undertaking research on international law issues and providing legal drafting support.
CENTRE FOR APPLIED HUMAN RIGHTS, UNIVERSITY OF YORK: The Centre for Applied Human Rights (CAHR) is an interdisciplinary research and teaching centre. M.A.P is currently partnering with CAHR on a multi-jurisdictional research project to document legal encounters between refugees, lawyers and the relevant institutions. The project is being supported by the Economic & Social Research Council, UK.
